Oct
The leaves are nice
the colors are bright
This time of year
a perfect sight
You love the fall
so much to see
wish you were hear
to help share it with me
your miss each day
that passes by
as long as its been
I still sit and cry
When fall is over
winter sets in
your memory won't fade
I still hold it within
Thank you again for all the years
you gave us happiness and
helped wipe the tears
We will meet again someday
God will unite us This I pray

Remembering bright and sunny days in Corinth
http://www.tangle.com/view_video.php?viewkey=6af9a3a06f3025b4f82d
Dad, when I heard this song I saw you wrapping your arms around Jesus when you saw him.
Please view this video as it reminds me of Dad. I am missing him alot today. I can see him sitting on the edge of the front porch admiring the grass he just spent the last few hours cutting, sipping a cold glass of water with a hand towel around his neck. He worked so hard for what he gave all of us. The most precious are all the memories.

Tonight

While I was driving tonight the peepers were getting louder and louder. All the sudden In my mind, I found myself up in Cookville, Corinth at your place, Sitting on your back deck. An over powerful feeling I felt. Just the little things you loved now can mean so much more to me. Thank you Dad for the memories. I Love and Miss you so very much.

Today
Today as I walked through the Dartmouth Hospital Cancer Center and looked down at each seat you once sat, I still see you sitting there, remembering everything you went through each time you were there. Then I looked over at each person and wondered if they too are going through all what you did. I pray that each one of them have half the faith and strength that you had. They would be blessed as we were, if they also have the time we had with you. Each one with their own pain I can feel for them and they too one day will look into a empty seat and see what I see. I pray they too will see their loved one again as I know I will see you. Dad, I miss you so very much.

Another of Dad's writings

April
Yes this is the April of our lives.
For a purpose we are given this moment, again and again.
For what purpose you may ask.
Look around. Have things not been dead and buried for a season?
Now it's time for those things to arise from the earth to bloom in
green and brilliant color.
It's time for the angels to roll the stone from the tomb.
What emerges is the birth of our salvation, beyond the beauty of
risen flowers that God has laid before our feet.
God has given life through death, if only we believe. How many
Aprils must we be shown these things, before there are none left to
us?
Hear the message, feel it in your soul.
Give God his due: accept life beyond death he has offered.
Savor the April gift of salvation. Arise with the Christ from the
tomb.
Yes, this is the April of our lives.

Wow, so many memories with grandpa. We all miss him. Everybody. But we will all be with him someday. He is in heaven now.
I remember the night when we were putting up the Christmas tree, the day before that, and the day of, I was not feeling very well. I was always tired and wasn’t eating. Those two days, Grandpa was better then ever. He had so much energy that night. I’m grateful that he was able to put an ornament on the tree with Grandma that night. I hadn’t put any ornaments on the tree, as I was half asleep on the couch. My energy went into grandpa, so he could spend his last Christmas putting an ornament with Grandma on the tree.
I also remember the day that me and John took Grandpa out to Long Pond. What a wonderful day. Grandpa was amazed by the foliage, and took some beautiful pictures. I am very fortunate to have spent the day with John and Grandpa.
We all love and miss you grandpa.

Father and Son
Father
It's not time to make a change,
Just relax, take it easy.
You're still young, that's your fault,
There's so much you have to know.
Find a girl, settle down,
If you want you can marry.
Look at me, I am old, but I'm happy.
I was once like you are now, and I know that it's not easy,
To be calm when you've found something going on.
But take your time, think a lot,
Why, think of everything you've got.
For you will still be here tomorrow, but your dreams may not.
Son
How can I try to explain, when I do he turns away again.
It's always been the same, same old story.
From the moment I could talk I was ordered to listen.
Now there's a way and I know that I have to go away.
I know I have to go.
Father
It's not time to make a change,
Just sit down, take it slowly.
You're still young, that's your fault,
There's so much you have to go through.
Find a girl, settle down,
if you want you can marry.
Look at me, I am old, but I'm happy.
Son
All the times that I cried, keeping all the things I knew inside,
It's hard, but it's harder to ignore it.
If they were right, I'd agree, but it's them you know not me.
Now there's a way and I know that I have to go away.
I know I have to go.

Light
Light (WOW) How powerful is that.
A simple light could be used for so many things.
A simple light could be used for so many things.
Could create memories, could change a life.
Just think about it.
A light needed to find your way.
A Light to find romance at dinner time.A Light to read. A light to to keep away monsters
A Light to find the key hole
A Light to drive at night
A Light to create a rainbow.
A Light to create a Sunrise and also a Sun Set
And so on............Some one always needs to turn that light on.
Light switch in the hallway
Light the candle on the table
Turn on the Light next to your Book
Use your flash light in the night
Gods sun brightens the day
And don't forget
Dad always Turns on the out door light so
we can find our way home.
Now Jesus turned on The Best and Brightest
Light of all So Dad could find his way home.

Random thoughts of Dad. Missing him alot today...

Wow!!!! Where to begin..... Being the baby of the family I had less years to enjoy my time with Dad. However, the years I did have with him were wonderful beyond words. I basically had Mom and Dad to myself once we moved to Vermont. There are countless memories. I wouldn't even know where to begin. Lets see I can try..... Growing up I had four Dads (Dad and my three brothers) and three Moms (Mom and my two sisters). To many chiefs and not enough indians as Dad would say. Everyone had a hand in raising the baby. I can remember Dad coming home from work every evening at 5:30, dinner on the table. After a long day of working he settled in at the dinner table to listen to his six children bicker over the days happenings. After dinner no matter what type of day I had (I could have drove Mom up a wall all day) Daddy was there to bring me to the deli for M&M's. Remembering the many many nights I had fallen asleep on the couch or under the kitchen table. Dad would carry me up to my room every night. OK so we are not talking a toddler here. I began this tradition as a toddler and continued it until I was about 10 years old. I am surprised I didn't ruin his back. Dad was so happy to move to Vermont. Once he started working for Pratt's everything just seemed normal again. Dad was back to working long days but, enjoying the Vermont lifestyle. As a teenager, I drove my Dad crazy. From unplugging his car on cold nights, making him late for work to him teaching me how to drive on these winding snow covered Vermont roads. Getting a speeding ticket with Dad's old beater truck worrying he would take my license from me. After telling him I received a speeding ticket his response was "How'd you do that, I didn't think my truck went that fast. Hope you can pay for it." Many days during the Christmas holiday season helping Dad do inventory at Pratt's. He despised those yellow sticky notes (they were markers for the items already counted). I thought he was going to strangle me when he arrived home one evening to find the entire living room covered in yellow sticky notes. He grumbled and laughed it off. The numerous trips back and forth to college in Burlington during vacations. That time spent chatting will be cherished. Dropping me off he would slip me some cash and say "take care of yourself and stay out of trouble". Dad was a man of few words. Although he told Mom he loved her a million times a day Dad seldom said "I love you" to me, but when he did, it meant so much. The likely response to "Dad I love you" was a cheerful "Yeaup!". I never questioned Dad loving us kids. It showed in all he did for us. Since my daughter Riley was born on October 20th, her and I traveled back and forth on weekends to spend as much time as I could with Dad and of course to support Mom in her sleepless nights with Dad. Riley and I were able to be there with Dad when he went home to be with Jesus. Even in his last hours I recieved a cheerful "Yeaup" when I told him I loved him. Dad I will miss you until we meet again.

A Missed Friend
The first time working with George he never had anything to say but listen
After getting to know him a while and talking about his family, his eyes would glisten
Moved from Jersey to Vermont and learning to drive these winter icy roads, he had no fear
Untill one early morning driving to work, he hit his first deer
He enjoyed his work and meeting people and despised being on call
Winter months he would grumble but didn,t mind summer or fall
A very proud man for what he had accomplished over the years with his life
It's sad that his life had ended and left behind his friends, family and his wife
May God Be With You "George "

Our Brother-In-Law
I remember when my sister met George (we knew him as Greasy) - she just fell head over heels in love. He reminded us of James Dean. He rode a motor cycle - how cool ! ! ! They married and what a handsome couple they made.
He was a wonderful husband to my sister and a great father. He was also a one in a million brother-in-law and he will be missed dearly.

Camilo E. Fadul MD
Dr. Fadul was Dad's Neuro-Oncologist at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center. I met Dr. Fadul when he first gave Dad the tumor diagnosis and right away felt comfortable with his presence. He was more than a doctor to Dad and our family. He showed genuine compassion, understanding and concern for Dad and and our family. Dad's visits to Dartmouth for treatments always included a visit with Dr. Fadul and he gave Dad and our family plenty of time to present diagnosis, treatment options and listened to our endless questions about Dad's prognosis.Dad, Mom and I attended a day-long workshop hosted by Dr. Fadul and his staff to address the issues facing care givers of tumor patients. I met a few of his patients that day and witnessed the compassion and respect he gave to his patients and the respect they gave in return. He realized the need to provide care for the "whole person" beyond the specific physical issue.
Dr. Fadul attended Mom and Dad's 50th wedding anniversary celebration and it brought great joy to our family to have him present. Once Dad was in hospice Dr. Fadul frequently called Dad at home. His extraordinary patient care is a model for other western heath care practitioners to follow.
I'm thankful to Dr. Fadul and his staff for providing compassionate care for Dad over the last 3 years.

One of These Days -By FFH
One of these I'm gonna fly Over the mountain
One of theses days I'm gonna ride On the silver lining
One of these days I'm gonna witness All I've been missing
One of these days
One of these days I'm gonna do All the things I've never done
One of these days I'm gonna do All the things I've never done
I'm gonna finish all the races That I've run but I've never won
I'm gonna see a million faces
And recognize every one
One of these days
One of these days I'm gonna see the hands that took the nails for me
One of these days I'm gonna see the hands that took the nails for me
One of these days I'm gonna hold the keys to the mansion built for me
One of these days I'm gonna walk the streets of gold that were paved for me
One of these days I'm gonna see my Savior face to face
One of these days
One of these days I'm gonna see Just what became of me On the day that I believed
One of these days I'm gonna see Just what became of me On the day that I believed
And you took myself from me
And I believe that I will see What I'd have been if you didn't save me
One of these days
One of these days I'm gonna talk With all the saints that have gone before
One of these days I'm gonna talk With all the saints that have gone before
In their sandals I will walk
And we will sit upon the shore
And I will learn all the things That I never knew before
All this and more
One of these days I'm gonna be In a place where there's no more need
One of these days I'm gonna be In a place where there's no more need
No more pain and no more grief
No more foolish disbelief
Ah the joy that there will be
When at last we finally see
One of these days
I'm gonna see my Jesus face to face
I'm gonna see my Jesus face to face
One of these days.

My Second chance

Growing up I was always on the run and never thought time was important. Busy with friends and always on the go. Dad working all the time so our family would have everything we need. Boy was I wrong. Time is something you can never get back. The past three years with Dad and Mom I learned how important time is. I got a chance to get to know Dad again but in the eyes of an adult instead of a child on the run. Time, I am greatful for all the time I had with him. Playing cards, watching a movie or two. Every night before they (Mom & Dad) turned in he would open the door and say "see ya in the morning" "goodnight" Boy do I miss that. The last month or so a Hug would be at the door when John and I came home. That was his way of saying Thank You and Love you guys. I Thank God every day for having that second chance of getting to know Dad again.
I will forever love and miss him. Goodnight Dad. See you again. Love Millie
When fall comes to New England
Dad often had his digital camera ready to capture the beauty of all that surrounded him. In September of 2008 my brother-in-law John took Dad and my nephew Josh to New Hampshire to view the colors that blanket New England every fall. It is as if I'm seeing through my father's eyes when I view the images he captured. Thank you John and Josh for taking Dad out to be in the beauty of a New England fall day.
Battle with Fred
In October of 2005, my dad suffered a seizure caused by a brain tumor that he and my mom nicknamed "Fred". He courageously endured two brain surgeries, radiation treatments and chemotherapy. Living with the knowledge that the tumor would return and eventually cause his death, he shared his precious time with family, friends and caregivers with a positive attitude. In October of 2008 he suffered a second seizure and went into the care of Hospice. He passed away peacefully on December 27, 2008 with his family at his side.
